Maybe they know what they’re talking about.
The distinguishing characteristic of youth is a trust that more good lies ahead than behind. That there’s more joy to be lived tomorrow than remembered today. Not fear of embarrassment, but instead an assumption that we’re growing and learning and changing, and so ambition holds greater rewards than either nostalgia or fear.
